Our P.A.C.K committee, which reaches out to proactively share kindness to our community and kids, met this week and identified six West Hills students & families to assist during the holidays. All six students are in very dire situations and need our help! Some have recently lost parents, living from couch to couch or are homeless. It would be wonderful to make their holidays brighter and help them enjoy their holidays, as we do ours.

We are accepting donations NOW, so please let Ginny Bell know if you'd like to donate! Our goal is to give each family the freedom to purchase whatever makes their holidays the most rewarding so we'd prefer donations of gift cards or cash. Our suggested gift cards would be: Payless Shoes, Famous Footwear, Walmart, Target, (inexpensive) restaurants (including fast food), Kohl's, gas cards, grocery store, entertainment (movies, miniature golf, etc), Costco are all appreciated, just to name a few.

Because we have more students this year, we want to be sure we collect enough to help them all. Feel free to reach out to your neighbors, relatives, friends and anyone that may be interested in helping our West Hills students.

Please turn in all donations to Ginny Bell ASAP. For these families and students, just knowing they are not alone and we "see them" is the reward.

November 29: Changed to an Assembly Day schedule.  All Period 5 classes teach and learn Period 5A, then give the online California Healthy Kids Survey Period 5B. (If you prefer to give the survey in period 5A and then teach that is great too!)

Dear Wolf Pack Staff,

As discussed in our last all staff meeting, this STAFF survey is designed to provide schools with data useful for fostering a positive learning and working environment that promotes academic success among all students. The survey is open to All WHHS staff members and your participation is very important to insure accurate and useful data.

The first part of this survey is for all staff and should take less than 15 minutes to complete. The second part is only for staff who provide services or instruction related to health, prevention, discipline, counseling and/or safety.

•Answer the questions based on your experiences only at the school that asked you to complete it, not your experiences with the district overall or another school where you might also work.

• Questions about staff or adults at the school refer to ALL staff — administrators, teachers, teaching assistants, counselors, and all other certificated and classified staff.

All responses are anonymous and confidential. A few questions ask for personal information, such as the work you do at the school, how long you have done it, and your race/ethnicity. But the survey reports provided to your district contain only percentages for all respondents combined. If there are less than 6 respondents in any group, that data are not made available.

Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability. Click on the link below to begin the survey. If you have any questions, please contact John Hoadley in the Admin office.

Our Prop U and Measure BB construction projects resume this Winter Break and then again in Summer. Please take a look at our list:

  1. Winter Break: Guidance offices: New Carpet
  2. Summer: (campus closure of buildings at various points in summer...more information to come)
    • Air Conditioning / Damper / Improved air flow design for Guidance, Cafeteria, Performing Arts, Gym (fix air returns / flow only NO AIR Conditioning alas....)
    • Locker Rooms: Both boys and girls locker rooms will get overhaul including team rooms

We are still working on our "wish list" : Additional Faculty / Staff restrooms near Math / Social Science and possible addition of student restrooms as well. We are also working on funding a double-wide portable to be a possible flex space for ENS in the current area where the racquetball courts are. This is a HUGE cost of about $700,000 due to need to have lights, air conditioning and electrical. Pursuing grants and funding sources for this dream...
