Good Afternoon Teachers and Schoology Users,
On 8/2/21 Instructional Technology will be offering Schoology training to our new teachers and on 8/3 and 8/4 they will offer Schoology training to our current employees.
As a result, ETS will need to synchronize Schoology on 8/1 so it is ready for use on 8/2. This may cause a few hurdles depending on where your site is with regard to your master schedule.
Things to remember:
- The first few weeks of school are always in flux. Don’t spend too much time getting your courses looking perfect, as schedules often change significantly in the first few weeks.
- Best practice is to build everything you need in terms of assignments in RESOURCES, then apply those assignments, activities, and folders to your courses once rosters settle.
- Pay particular attention to uniquely coded sections (Q-codes, for example). If you do decide to build directly in your course, rather than resources, make sure you are building in a course which has a full roster, rather than 1-2 students. Special scheduling sections (pseudo sections) will be deleted and their students added to the main course roster.
- The sync of this year’s courses will begin on 8/1 and may take a day or two for all courses to populate.
- If your course tiles or schedule are not what you are expecting, please discuss with your site admin team.
- Schoology will sync your rosters every evening to reflect changes that have been made by the school site.
Thank you for all you do!
