Friday was the first sunny day in a while and a few folks enjoyed lunching together. Thank you ASB for the music in the Pit! It is great to talk with others and enjoy some time with colleagues outdoors!

Kathy Worley won a $5000 grant for the Advanced Manufacturing Pathway classes from the Classroom of the Future organization in their INSPIRE Grant program! Our motto of "We Build Things" requires funds every year for all the materials, supplies and tools needed for students to accomplish this. Thank you Kathy for all you do to help West Hills students continue to have hands-on classes in drafting, design, wood-shop, Guitar Construction and Advanced Manufacturing!
Deputy Janae Krull (SRO for West Hills HS) receives Deputy of the Year at the Santee Heroes luncheon @CityofSantee, @SanteeChamber, @WHHSWolfpack, @SDSOSantee.

Thank you Marisa Musgrove, after-school theater director, for the wonderful opening weekend of "The Miracle Worker"! There is still two more performances if you would like to see our talented students in action!
And a double thank you to Tad VanDyke and John Goodman for their efforts in setting up and displaying our student art-work on campus in the Foyer this week. Come see exemplary year 1, 2, 3 and 4 student work on display all week!
And...to our Marching Band and Choir teacher, Dominick Maldonado and our Performance Expert Gio, for facilitating the Alchemy Winter Guard competition in our Gym on Saturday. West Hills TEMPO Parent Booster organization sponsored the event as well, providing all of the labor, infrastructure and communication that allowed for our students to demonstrate their talents and dedication to this unique musical expression.

Thank you to Jennifer Romanowski, Marilyn Cabral, Don Rutledge, Lucas Hondros, Jodi Kohler, Suzanne Sannwald, Barbra Ruggles, Amy Reid, Cece Boehme, and Carrin Edwards for joining the Literacy Team on Thursday, 3/28 in working with Robin and Lin Kuzmich on our site literacy efforts and our focus on cross-content literacy. You can see the Agenda with Notes and all teachers are welcome to join us in this work on this committee. Even if you were not able to attend the last two or three meetings, we are planning one more full day May 16. (even if you can join us for part of the day, we welcome your participation!). Please let Robin know if you would like to participate in May. The focus of this day will be the Back to School days in August and our year long work for
2019-20.
