Image result for Thank you Ardy Riego and ASB for our OUTSTANDING ASSEMBLY Friday! Bringing our students together to foster WOLF PACK PRIDE and celebrate our students was terrific! Thank you too to all TEACHERS and STAFF members who attended! We appreciate you and your supervision of our students as well as your good cheer!

Image result for thank you To MARK LANG for 27 years of service to the GUHSD, the last 25 at WHHS! Mark is retiring and his last day is March 31. He has been a solid rock of support for our campus, faithfully arriving daily at 5:45 a.m. to start our day with gates and doors unlocked, flags raised in our flag circle, and being first on the spot with any issues that have happened on campus over night. Cleaning our campus daily, setting up for special events and taking down the same, Mark has been a terrific PACK member and we will miss him!! THANK YOU MARK for all you have done for WHHS! Retirement is lucky to get you....

Image result for Dual credit  The GUHSD and Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, as part of our partnership and in support of California's "College and Career Readiness" work are asking every high school to offer college courses on the high school campus for courses we do not already offer and outside our bell schedule day. Open to all college students and our own students (with proper dual credit permission paperwork from our Guidance Department), approved students can take a limited number of college courses starting at age 16. Please see examples of the types of courses offered DUAL CREDIT: Courses offered at sister high schools  and let your Department Chair know what courses you think our students might be interested in taking on our campus next semester. Department Chairs and Leadership will be meeting in April with a Dean from Grossmont College to see what courses might benefit our students. This intent is to facilitate students challenging themselves in taking a college course while still in high school with the comfort and ease of attendance on our own campus.

YOU are invited with your families to attend with free tickets! We hope you plan to join us at one of these fine performances...the March 25th at 2:00 p.m. the performance is a "Pay as you can" for those under 18 for neighbors and friends and there will be a round table Q and A with the cast at the end of the show! Looking forward to another quality DramaKids production....

From the world of Positive Behavior and Instructional Supports....

Coming soon....WHHS will have Five MAJOR construction projects!

Project #1: Football and Track Field and Stadium Closed: April 3-29, 2017: Our entire football  field will be replaced under warranty. Due to the extensive nature of this work, there will be NO ACCESS to any part of the track and field of any kind for anyone other than the installation crew.

Project #2: Beginning during Spring Break, our HOME ECONOMICS building will be CLOSED and remodeling begins to build an ADA compliant student restroom and additional specific facilities for students with moderate to severe disabilities. The entire facility will be fenced and the DG lot at the back of the school will be the construction staging areas (fair warning if you park back there). Both Mr. Knopp and Ms. Boehme will move to temporary classrooms elsewhere on campus and no access to any part of that building will remain until it re-opens FALL 2017. The building will also be re-named "PACK DEN" and new signage will be installed.

Project #3: Solar power installation / covered parking in the faculty and East Senior Parking Lot beginning at 1:00 June 8 (yes...the day of graduation): Both entrances and exits to these lots will be closed and no access will be available throughout the summer. This is expected to be ready for the start of school August 15.

Project #4: Summer School will be centralized in the Social Science building and Admin offices will move to the Library so every building can get heating and air conditioning units replaced under Prop U and Measure BB. ALL parking and access to these two building will be in the West Lot and the access road will be CLOSED with no faculty or staff parking for summer school on the interior of campus due to construction.

Project #5: The GYM will be CLOSED July 3-28, 2017 so the entire gym floor can be sanded down to bare wood and resurfaced. This is done once every 10 years to maintain the playing surface.  Chris Quarders, Don Rutledge and Josh Reiderer are communicating specifics to the ENS Department and coaches. If you have any questions, please see one of these gentlemen.
