Hello WH Staff!
While many faculty and staff have signed up, we still have room for more! Please take a look below and if you have any questions, reach out to me....Debbie Heeb-WL4; phone: ext 6-0552

After last year’s hiatus, I am pleased to announce the 2020 Staff Airband Concept and Call for Participants! This year’s theme is…
 “Iconic Movie Songs”.

I have put together song clips from 11 different movies. There are contemporary as well as vintage titles. The songs have already been edited with corresponding dialogue/lyrics provided. Below are two important links:

(1) 2020 Staff Airbands Script : Here is the script for all 11 clips and
(2) here is the sign-up sheet.

In the script you will see dialogue written by our resident genius of wit, Danny Tricarico. The song clips are included for rehearsal purposes. I have also included this year links to videos (within the script) for ideas, inspiration, and dance moves!

Use the sign up sheet to sign up with some pals for one or more of the clips! Your group will decide how you want to depict the scene, put together a routine and make a voice recording of the corresponding dialogue. You will rehearse in your small groups at your discretion and as we get closer to the performance (which will be Weds. February 26th at 7:00 pm), we will rehearse as one large group.

It would be great to have representation from all staff (classified, teachers, coaches, counselors, admin, campus supervisors etc.) If you were too shy last time, I strongly urge you to go for it this year!! If you have any questions, ask me, Debbie Heeb-WL4-x60552

Thanks Everyone!

Job Club is now selling hand-made dog toys! They are available for purchase in the Finance Office online, or in person. Just bring the receipt to Mrs. Jimenez in room Pack 3 after you have paid. They are $5 each and we've had great feedback from happy dogs so far!

Job Club is an in-class club that is designed to provide students with moderate to severe disabilities with real-life job experiences. We have many different jobs on campus including making and selling dog toys, making and delivering coffee to staff who order it, creating small flower bouquets and selling them to staff and students who order them, along with many cleaning jobs around campus to help keep the spaces we use regularly clean while providing directly applicable skills to the students. We will also be making greeting cards using a Cricut printer very soon! All proceeds go into our account to be able to purchase items for the "Wolf Den Store" where the students can then "buy" items using the "Wolf Bucks" they earn from working on campus (they are paid $15 Wolf Bucks per hour they work), which is a deeper layer of lessons for the students to learn about money through spending and saving for items they want to purchase.

Have you heard of lateral reading? Lateral reading is an approach for evaluating information that better matches the realities of today's information landscape, increasingly replacing traditional checklist approaches. In support of #MediaLitWk, access this week's Resource Snack Time (bit.ly/rst-latrd) to learn more about lateral reading. Also, Suzanne will be co-presenting with Stephanie Macceca (VHS) about Lateral Reading at next week's SDCUE Fair, including insights we've learned when collaborating with teachers on research - if you're attending, we'd love to see you there!

As always, check out our website for lots of information. Go Wolf Pack!
