Transitions...

Finance Office: Janelle Malueg is taking a teaching position at El Capitan starting Monday, Aug. 29 and has kindly offered to continue to work part time for us the next two weeks while we are posting her position. She will be on campus 12:00-3:30 p.m. We will get information out to students and parents to let them know of these new hours as well. Congrats Janelle...we will miss you!

Assistant Principal Office: Joann DuFloth will be joining us as our newest administrator coming from Valhalla H.S. teaching science, being the Literacy Coordinator and the Health Science Pathway Coordinator. With over 22 years in the classroom, Joann's various teacher leadership roles make her a great fit for WHHS! We are still working on her full-time transition since finding a qualified Science teacher is a bit of a challenge right now.

With our new Title I funds, we are able to E-X-P-A-N-D our tutoring offerings! If you are interested in staffing tutoring before or after your contractual day--Period 1, 7 or after school, please let your Department Chair know. Tutoring is funded at $44 an hour and many of our students can benefit from this additional support! Once we know your Department tutoring schedule, we will post it to our handout and publicize it. You would need to keep a sign in sheet for students and complete a time-sheet with Ginny for hours worked, turned in the last working day of the month (no "saving up" of time-sheets). Please make sure you work with your Chair--we cannot take "surprise" tutoring time to stay within our site budget and Title I approved spending allocations.

College Going Promotion...Don't forget your Personalized Door Sign..here is Ashley Worth's Template again and example as well as Robin's. We are seeing them all over campus and students ARE talking about them!!

SPECTRUM OF HOPE is the story of 10 musical theater students, their families, and their teachers as they journey from their special needs school in New York City's Lower East Side to the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. It is a beautiful moment in all of their lives - a celebration of the power of arts education, musical theater, and what can be accomplished when students are allowed to flourish on their own terms.
