Talk with your Administrator--need a doctor’s note for any request re:health
You are health compromised
You are care taker of health compromised individual
You are caretaking of dependent children with no options
Once note is received, Admin refers to HR and an “interactive dialogue” is scheduled via Zoom
On campus sanitization efforts: Please read carefully, there are options for all employees to go above the base activities.
Sanitization of all classrooms and offices will be done one daily by custodial crew at the end of the night so they are the last persons in the room.
Option: Each employee may have their choice of either one sanitizer that needs spray and then wipe down. Or they may choose "spray only" which drys in one minute without wipe down. Both are effective.
Grounds will be sanitizing outdoor railings and door knobs once per day.
Option: You can get plastic gloves from us (or wear your own) to meet your concerns.
Restrooms-- Students: Staff will supervise doing our best to have only one student per restroom at a time. Sanitization will happen at the end of the school day. Both WL and PC Restrooms will be open for both boys and girls.
Restrooms--Adults: Admin Building is closed through November so Faculty Lounge, Library and PD Singleton adult restroom are available for general access. Sanitizing spray will be available within each restroom. We are asking adults to spray after using to prepare for next individual. This is the honor system and you may sanitize prior to your using facility (it will take a minute for it to dry to be effective). This is an individual choice to follow this request and we hope you will do so. All restrooms will be sanitized nightly by custodial crew as well.
Temperature checks for students on campus: There will be five temperature check in stations (map coming soon) where every student is asked to check in and get a clearance ticket for giving to their first teacher of the day. Attendance will also be a temperature check in for any student arriving late to class. Teachers may choose to check out a temperature device and check students as well. We are encouraging as many teachers to do this who feel comfortable doing so. This will allow us to check in students and get them to your classes much faster for period 1. Please complete this google form if you are willing to do this.
Temperature checks for Faculty and staff: There is a thermometer check station in our temporary Reception / Attendance / Principal's Secretary location in B2. Currently everyone is asked to check their temperature at home or at school and if you have a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, we ask you to stay home / return home. When we re-open with students, we will update this directive as we know more.
Classroom / Office precautions: We have social distancing stickers and plastic Shields for office staff in place currently and can add more / discuss with any support staff any concerns you have to try to add more precautions. We have a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available to you. Please email Cyndi (MSF) for any requests. She has sent out several emails regarding this and you are welcome to call or email her to meet your requests.
Classroom setups--Teachers: You have a variety of items to support you in creating the classroom environment that can work for your physical space.
- (a) Red painters tape and 6 ft. pre-cut PVC (latex free) pipe to easily measure distance: you can set up your room with 10 student desks / tables and these are sanitized each night.
- (b) You can leave your current set up and ask for color stickers to identify you various different desks used each of the four school days according to this type of chart .
- Either way, we must have all students 6 ft. social distanced and have seats clearly identified by student name on a chart for each period / day of the week. You will not be able to add names until we see who is coming to school in person and who is not.
Classroom entrance and exits at beginning and end of periods: Students need to "line up" outside your door until you open it to let them in. This allows all students within the classroom to leave prior to anyone else coming in AND if you choose, for you to sanitize between groups of students. (This will be part of our return to class video we are making for everyone to view).
Path of Travel on campus for EVERYONE: Once students and more Faculty and staff return to campus full time, we have identified our path of travel (much like you see directional signs / stickers on the aisles and floors of retail businesses). We have identified the (hopefully) easy to remember slogan "Be healthy--go RIGHT". What this means is approach every building and walk to your right around the building to get to the classroom or office you need. This may mean you walk all the way around a building to get to the classroom close to you on the left, however, this allows us to give directions on how to keep 6 ft. social distancing and to do our best to give clear directives to comply with the County Health guidelines. We know not everyone will follow this directive and will do our best to correct directional choices, however, we will ALL need to do this as much as possible. (map forthcoming with arrows).
We are making a Screencastify to explain all of these precautions and directions for everyone in our school community as soon as we have all the markings on campus and the map ready. We will be sending it out to parents, students, faculty and staff in an email as soon as we can.
Eight Strategies to Improve Participation in your Online Classroom
(click "go to previous page once window opens).
Hello teachers,
We have been receiving emails from parents and students about scheduled Zoom meetings for their classes. We just want to remind everyone that we need to adhere to this schedule for live Zoom meetings. Please be sure to hold them during your period's scheduled time. If you are not holding a Zoom during your scheduled time, please notify students on your weekly calendar so that they are aware. We know that your daily contact with students can happen in a variety of ways, but this is causing some confusion for students and families. Clarity at the start of the week with a Weekly Calendar posted on Monday can prove helpful.
Please let Admin know if you have any questions!
Hopefully this makes you smile.
And, please know that your Admin Team is here to help in any way we can.
This is dedicated to each of YOU....we ARE truly together in this journey!
Savannah is a high school student in Utah. Matt is her dad. Savannah asked
Matt to join her in a duet back in March for a Choir video submission to give
her courage. They had such fun doing it, they made another one and then
another and well, maybe you can tell by their voices, they are off to great success
via YouTube. Thanks for "raising us up"!
Stay connected via our emails, social media and on campus!
