To Corrie Biggerstaff and the ENTIRE Science Department for your 3rd Annual "Full Paw Society" Science Awards last Monday night! Students were honored who took 5 years of science (two in one year), 4 years of science and other "Honorable Mentions" for Seniors showing dedication and interest in science. While our District Graduation requirement is two years of science minimum (one life science, one physical science), the UC "a-g" requires 2 years with generally "3 preferred". This is a lovely way to encourage, promote, and honor seniors who have gone above and beyond in their science studies. It is also a wonderful celebration for our Science teachers of their hard work and their love of Science!

Thank you to Jodi Kohler and Dan Sutton for overseeing our annual Multi-Cultural day on Wednesday and to the entire Social Science Department for bringing students each period to participate. We also thank the Club Advisers and staff who took a sub day to be with their Clubs at the fair--Carrin Edwards, Torben Holzhausen, Penny McDowell, Noelle Johnson, Dominick Maldonado, and Steve Lorentz, just to name a few, as well as several others we might have missed.

We will be talking about this annual event at our Back to School days in August so please talk within your departments and across campus about your thoughts on the Multi-Cultural Fair. We will be getting student input from Student Senate and look forward to continuing to reflect on how to make this event, or events like this, meaningful, relevant and of value to both adults and students.
