Welcome to our LAST edition for the 2020-21 School Year!

To ALL who made our virtual Senior Awards Night possible! BIG
shout out to Breezy Svacina (GIS) and Carrie Gaeir (A.P.) for organizing and
communicating with all parties to honor our Seniors! Good luck Breezy as you
move to El Cajon Valley July 1 as Counselor! We are so sorry to lose you but
remember, once a member of the PACK, always a member of the PACK!

As we prepare to end our 2021-22 school year, we THANK YOU for
your expertise, perseverance, time, energy and GRIT to make this year the very best
it could be for our students and each other.  Please keep these things in mind as we close out
this year:
Classrooms: Most classrooms will be used this summer. Please put personal items away or take home if you are concerned about them in any way.

Refrigerators / Coffee makers / Microwaves: Please unplug them if not in active use.

Campus Security: Please let Cyndi Nowlen know if you will be on campus or working in your classroom on the weekends or during evening hours.
If you go through a gate, please lock it behind you. Please note, restrooms are not open or unlocked on the weekends so please plan accordingly.

Construction Closures: Science, Gym and other locations may be closed at anytime
due to the construction projects underway. Please do NOT access any construction areas without

If you catch your unbroken egg, you can move to the next cone. If your egg breaks, you stay and toss again. The farthest toss with an intact egg wins! Take a look at who wins!

We are Very proud of our two GUHSD Sportsmanship Award winners Landon Vanderhyde (Soccer) and Mackenzie Ryan (Gymnastics)! They exemplify our West Hills Way and “play tough but fair” with “academics first”! Westmont College and SDSU are lucky to have you next year! Go Wolf Pack!!

Full Paw Society Science Awards!

Last week, the WHHS Science Teachers handed out the awards to students in a "drive by" ceremony. Thank you students and Science Teachers for all your hard work!

The Full Paw Society is awarded to students who completed four years or more of high school science. This award is called the full paw because the wolf paw used for many of our mascot images has four toes. One toe to represent each science course taken. Students receive a wolf paw medallion on a lanyard.

Congratulations AVID Seniors Evening:

Honoring all AVID Seniors and their families for a job well done in their high school careers, on Thursday, Ashley Worth (AVID, English) and Carrin Edwards (AVID, English) celebrated their program beautifully in our Pit outdoors.   Though some of our seniors were unable to join, we are proud of and happy to celebrate our entire senior family. Seniors who remained in our program for 2+ years also received their personalized sashes, which they are invited to wear at our Graduation. Congratulations all!

Alissa Lassooy, Senior, for winning First Place in LEAGUE for girls Tennis singles!

Girls Basketball won Friday night vs. Steele Canyon as did JV Boys Basketball. Boys Basketball had a heartbreaker with Steele Canyon making a final basket with less than one second to go in the game losing 49-47! Great effort Wolf Pack!

WH Cheer Tryouts going strong with former JV Coach Torrie Englert taking over our Varsity and Head Coaching position.

Thank you to all Faculty and Staff who attended Prom Saturday night and helped make this night very special for the Class of 2021! Students entered through a magical archway of lights, walked the red carpet to the field and danced the night away with lighting and DJ from SOS Entertainment. The evening ending with a great fireworks display celebrating our Seniors! Thank you to Marilyn Cabral (Science) for her role as Class Advisor and to John Hoadley (A.P.) who took over as weekly liaison with the Class Officers with Marilyn out on maternity leave. With clear skies, it truly was a night "under the stars".  The Class elected not to have the traditional Prom Court or King / Queen and instead focused on "Together" as the theme for this very unusual Senior year!

See our Seniors enjoying the field dancing under the stars!

Renovations are well underway in our Science Building. Take a look at the progress made so far....

Where is the GREENHOUSE???!!!
Never able to be used because it was built with
the wrong glass and literally burned everything
within it, we finally said "goodbye" to this iconic eyesore.

Science Classrooms are all torn up, with fixed peninsulas being replaced. S-6 above is representative of all classrooms in the building.

Science Workroom modernization

Do you recognize S-8 Lecture Hall???
