Follow up from this week...
Thank you to ALL PERIOD 3 Teachers for your follow up on the very important Family Survey. We were able to collect 911 additional surveys of our 1002! We so THANK YOU and know this is going to make a HUGE positive impact on our funding for maintaining our programs!
THANK YOU JUNIOR ENGLISH and Individual Instruction Teachers and aides for testing all of our JUNIORS in the District Assessment! This assessment mirrors our state testing protocols in many ways and is intended to provide important practice for our students and formative feedback to teachers regarding students' progress. Because writing and critical thinking skills are key for every content area, in the future, this assessment proctoring and evaluating will NOT be limited to English teachers. Other subject matter assessments are in the works--NWEA Map testing with English Language Arts and Math skills, and NGSS Science exams are all in the future. Please be open to discussing and sharing in this critical formative assessment piece as a faculty. WRITING ACROSS the campus is a continuous focus. More information to come...
Thank you to all for hosting and having Australian students shadow on Friday! Here they are working in Biology alongside WHHS students. West Hills has had this program for over 15 years and it is a wonderful chance for a cultural and educational exchange.
Thank you ASB and Ardy for hosting the lunch time pep rally in the Pit to help us introduce Dat Phan to our current students....tickets are still available through Taylor in Finance or at Al's Sports Shop...a fun way to support WHHS!
WINTER FORMAL: THANK YOU JUNIOR CLASS and Ms. WANN for making this happen! Over 550 students enjoyed the dance with terrific PTSA volunteers helping to check in students and dedicated WHHS Campus Supervision, Support Staff, and Admin to monitor the evening.
