The end of the year is always a time for a Destiny refresher as students return textbooks and clear fines.
Senior Chromebook Buying Days = 5/22-5/24 with English classes; drop-ins through 5/30 deadline
Please bookmark and review the following new website that includes Destiny help links and important information regarding textbook and fine-related deadlines:
Destiny Help for WHHS Staff
IMPORTANT items and processes to review, which are featured on the homepage:
- ALL TEACHERS & STAFF: Make sure to read the IMPORTANT UPDATES REGARDING TEXTBOOKS & FINES section.
- Textbook Exception Form - ALL TEACHERS who plan on collecting and checking in textbooks AFTER 5/23/18 should submit this form since textbooks roll over into lost fines after this date.
- Destiny Fine Correction Form - Created to address the issue of students claiming they turned in textbooks and teachers requesting fines be waived, teachers may submit this form and Kelley Herman or Suzanne Sannwald will make necessary updates to student records in Destiny.
- Textbook Replacement Approval Form - Departments should discuss their policies, and if they decide to allow for replacements, teachers may use this form to expedite the processing of replacement textbook items and fine clearance in Destiny.
Thank you to everyone for helping students with these items!
Public schools are measured on a variety of indicators. Take a look at an EdSource article on easy comparison of Districts / Schools on the California Dashboard: Search for "West Hills" and note that we can easily be compared to other schools. Our first parent noting this data talked with us this week deciding between Santana, West Hills and Grossmont for their incoming freshman. It was a surprise to me. They noted they had seen a link in a state PTSA newsletter blog to parents. This Dashboard will continue to add performance measures to our score.
