Credit Recovery / Credit Repair: Please talk with your Department Chair about this important opportunity for students. We have received a budget for Learning Loss Mitigation (LLM) funds to address the unique needs of students in distance learning. This list of ideas was shared between Principals to help look at what kinds of options we can create to help our students. Department Chair and Leadership team is meeting on Monday to discuss your feedback and create a plan for our site.

Q1 and Q2 Tutorial supplement for each teacher one hour a week for distance learning only students
Each teacher may choose to offer one hour a week, paid at $50 / hour to reach out to students who are in distance learning only. Here is the MOU language:
Distance Learning Only Students at Level 2: In an effort to provide additional support for distance learning, beginning at Level 2, all teachers will be able to offer up to one hour a week of online assistance (at the tutorial rate) to Distance Learning Only students through the end of Quarter 2. This tutorial will need to take place outside the regular work day. The district will assist teachers with documenting direct engagement with Distance Learning Only students (e.g. two-way email exchanges, live zooms, phone calls) so that at least 75% of Distance Learning Only students are reached every grading period.

Teachers would complete a timesheet (make a copy after opening) with evidence of reaching out to 75% or more of their students who are in Distance Learning only (Zoom sign in; list of students with ID numbers, etc). This is for the last week of Q1 and through Q2 initially so there are a total of 12 hours available. (Starting the week of Sept. 28-end of Q2). If you completed one hour of tutorial to your Distance Learning students last week and you are planning on doing so this week, please begin a timesheet for the month of October and collect whatever documentation you might have for 5 students or more to turn in with your timesheet at the end of October. Compensation is at the $50 per hour Tutorial rate.

Conduct Grades
Some teachers have asked about Conduct Grades while we were primarily in Distance Learning in Q1. District Leadership created a document for discussion and consideration as you review and think about
Conduct Grades . Please consider NOT giving any ¨U¨s unless you have a serious student behavior issue like the use of vulgarity or inappropriate behavior on Zoom or in emails to you. Parents and students are seriously affected by seeing the ¨U"on the conduct grade in this extremely difficult time and these are permanent grades in a student record.

And now...hopefully this makes you laugh....be well Wolf Pack!
