Faculty update:
Rachel Samuelsz, part-time Choir teacher,  accepted a full time position at Hoover High School. We wish her well in her new district and school. Mr. Adam Pezdek, new music teacher replacing Courtney Pate, will be teaching the Choir assignment in addition to Marching Band and concert band. Thank you Adam!

Monday Reminders from Admin and Guidance:
Please welcome every student in your class. You may have a class with 39 or more--please keep them and do not send to Guidance. We are balancing sections constantly and need to start school to see which students are actually attending or not. This will take this week to finalize. We HOPE we have more students showing up than we know of.

Send / Tell students to go to Guidance who have a "gap" in their schedule during the "gap" period. Guidance will also see students who have earned credit in a course but are enrolled in it again (unless they are trying to raise a "D" to a "C" for college eligibility)  or who have less than 5 periods scheduled. Mark the student "present" for attendance before they leave a class if they are on your roster.

Our Bell Schedule is located online. Please take a moment and post all important start and end times and dates to YOUR schedule.

We meet once a month, meeting time determined by those serving on the Council.

Please consider serving on this important council. You may nominate yourself simply by emailing or talking with Ginny Bell. Nominations are open through Friday, August 26.

By 2020, 65% of all jobs will require post-secondary education. Employers are demanding highly trained, competent and skilled workers in a wide array of industries.  That’s why the Grossmont Union High School District and Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District have joined forces to set all GUHSD students up for success. Students in the Class of 2019 and beyond from these east county high schools are automatically considered Higher Edge Scholars and will be able to participate in exciting new programs that will begin to be offered to students in the 2016/17 academic year. Students that fulfill the requirements of the Higher Edge Promise Scholarship criteria will be rewarded with FREE college for their first 30 units at either Grossmont or Cuyamaca Colleges.
