Hello. As noted on our published bell schedule, next week we have one all school collaboration time on our late start Monday and one WASC Focus Group meeting on our minimum day Wednesday. At out last all Faculty and Staff meeting two weeks ago, Randy Cambou, our WASC Coordinator shared a brief power point and discussed this process.

Please see your Focus Group choice linked here. In many cases you chose your group, in others it was assigned to you because no choice had been recorded by your Department Chair or given to us if a classified staff member. We can make changes however, we do need to balance all faculty and staff across the focus group topics. Please talk to Robin is you would like to make a change. We are in need of having more in our Data and Accountability group and  fewer in our School Culture group if possible.

Please attend the two meetings as follows. You will need to sign in at each meeting and throughout this process as evidence for our process. Sign ins will be in the Focus Group meetings.

Please bring your laptop or come to the main office to check out a Chromebook prior to your WASC meeting on Monday. All work in all Focus Groups and in Departments for WASC will be via Google Docs. Thank you.

Monday, October 3, 7:45-8:45 a.m.
Wednesday, October 5, 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Instruction: meet in SS-3
Organization and Governance meet in E8
Curriculum meet in E10
Data & Accountability meet in E1
School Culture & Student Support meet in SS6

Not sure what group you are in? See the link here.

Any questions --please see Robin or call Ginny to ask Robin.

Content for Marketing WHHS on Social Media: This email  IS WORKING finally....The power of social media and having a pressence on social media sites like instagram, snapchat, and twitter is undeniable today. To that end, our Media Interns are prepared and ready to post, post, post but they need CONTENT.

If you have photos of programs, events, cool things with students that will present WHHS as the terrific school we ARE, please email them to whhsmedia@guhsd.net with a short caption. Our interns will take it from there to post as quick as they can.

My goal is that we have so much content, the two interns can "hardly keep up"! Anything that shows student product, students at work in collaborative groups, or at practice are all ideas we can use. So please give us content so we can post away!

Thanks for any and all contributions! Don't forget a one line explanation for context...thanks for assisting us in promoting students in ACTION, or TEACHERS and STAFF with STUDENTS, or anything new or cool that is positive for WHHS!

Image result for Counseling CornerGuidance launched their Fall Counseling Corner newsletter and sent it via email to staff and teachers, and via  Infinite Campus to students and parents. Just wanted you to have it here as well. It is  linked on our website and includes great information to share with others. Thank you!

We will be testing ALL 10th Graders and some 11th on our MINIMUM DAY OCTOBER 19.
VP Joann DuFloth and Guidance are working out the testing schedule. Department Chairs and Leadership believe this is a great baseline data set for us to see how our students are achieving. We are using Title I funds to pay for students to test. Organized similar to the CAHSEE testing in the past, many teachers will be proctors, others will be asked to be "relievers" for those proctoring or asked to "take in" some students if they are not testing but their teachers are proctoring.
On or before October 7, Period 3 teachers will have individual student bulletins with specifics to students to hand out. Please look for them in your mail box.
Much more information and specifics coming soon.
