At lunch, we are hoping to have a 2 minute reading of the PTSA Budget and a very short "meeting" to approve it. If you can drop in at lunch and HELP US DO THIS we would so appreciate it.

GIVING THANKS to ALL....thank you to all faculty, staff and students who expressed their individual thanks for our Thankful Tree! It is in full wonder in the Admin building and it continues to GROW! If you need a lift--take a look at what we are thankful for. I continue to be THANKFUL to you and the privilege and honor in serving West Hills.

Staff Transitions...
Campus Supervisor Jake Schwartzwald begins his new position at Home Choice as a Senior Secretary. Jake has been with us just about a year and we wish him well in his new position.

Receptionist Shari Rebello will be moving to a 12 month position to the District H.R. department  (instead of our 11 month one) on December 1.  We will miss Shari and wish her well in her new position as well.

Both staff openings will be posted on Edjoin.org next week and we will be interviewing and selecting two new wonderful folks to join the Wolf Pack by mid-December.

THIS MONTH: NEW STUDENT RUBRICS

New student rubrics are here and available in LDC CoreTools!

Our partners at SCALE have brought this powerful new dimension to our online offering. These new student work rubrics are exciting news for the entire LDC community.

Spark the conversation:

Making school meaningful and FUN for both teachers and students...21st Century Skills: Check out a short video case study of three school systems. Department Chair and Leadership are talking about our most persistent lack-of-achievement 9th graders and looking at how we can STOP the "Fs" to get out in front of the need for credit recovery and online learning remediation. Using our 12 week grades, when we return from Thanksgiving break, we will review all of our data for the entire school and make it available to all for PLC, department and individual teacher knowledge and discussion. With enrollment at 1780 and continuing to decline, we want to keep this information front and center for all.

Take a read through our parent and student monthly blog-- Wolf Call and note the section on GRADES and increasing student and parent support for mandatory tutoring
