Valedictorian and Salutatorian Selection Committee Meeting is Monday, May 10 at 8:30 a.m. via Zoom.  Please contact Ginny Bell for the calendar invite, including Zoom code.  Teachers of AP Seniors are particularly welcome as all others are. 
District policy require the one student with the highest GPA be a Valedictorian. A committee chaired by the Principal and convened by members of the teaching faculty meet and may select additional Valedictorians and / or Salutatorians as desired.

SILVER W Nominations are now open.

The Silver “W” is  to recognize the seniors who have made a difference at West Hills. These are the students who have demonstrated a willingness to do whatever they can to make our school a better place for all.   The selection meeting is Monday, May 10th via Zoom at 9:45 a.m.  Teachers of Seniors and any other faculty and staff who would like to attend are welcome to do so. Please email Ginny Bell to get the calendar invitation with Zoom code. 

The selection criteria are as follows: 

1. The Award will be presented to no more than 10 seniors each year. 

2. Fewer than ten awards may be presented, if fewer than 10 seniors meet the criteria. 

3. Selection will be based on: 
a) School Service    
b School Leadership   
c) School Participation   
d) Attitude 

 4. The recipient must have a minimum 2.25 grade point average on the last report before selection.        
                   
5. The recipient must not have any significant discipline referrals during their enrollment at West Hills.  (Discipline records will be reviewed.) 

6. All Staff members will be given the opportunity to nominate candidates. 

7. The selection will be made by those who attend the selection meeting.   

8. Teachers of seniors and those teachers who sponsor extracurricular clubs, groups, teams, or are class sponsors are urged to participate.  

Persons who nominate a candidate will be asked to speak to that selection or have a colleague prepared to do so.




PACK TRIALS UPDATE....Second and Third Challenges MET!!

$100 Breakfast of Champions- Heather Maxwell and Hannah Bloomfield swished mouthwash for 30 seconds followed by an

orange juice chug for speed! Was it the teacher or the student who BEAT the Challenge??!!

 



$150 Dodgeball- Lucas Hondros, Jamie Gwyn, Ryan Kinser, and Nikki Vanderhyde played an

intense match of dodgeball! Multiple matches-best of 3! Watch and see who WON??!!!

$200 Splashdown- Savannah Addy, Andrea Young, Pete Mergens, Coach Mike, Kelley Herman, Kyle Hammond,

Ashlynn Rohr, Emma Solis, Carson Holden, Brandy Atutasi, and the C/O 2023 Student Leadership

will relive the ice bucket challenge!

 

$300 Egg Toss Boss- Suzanne Sannwald + Amy Reid, Beth Miller +Jeri Lines, and students Kat Nguyen + Neah Nacauili

will play an incredibly fragile game of catch!

 

$400 Feelin' Hot Hot Hot- Coach Ash, Coach Q, John Whiteman, and Deborah Heeb eat a whole habanero pepper and sit

with the burn for 30 seconds

 

$500 Random Instrument Challenge- (Completely stolen from Jimmy Fallon) Ardy Riego,

Karen Nylund, and student Braden Wilson will try to get Elise Reinert to guess what song

they're playing.. on an instrument they have no idea how to play!

 

$600 Pie Hard- Watch Pete Mergens, Torben Holzhausen, and students Braden Wilson and Brandy Atuatasi

face off in an intense search for a toy wolf in a cream pie, with no use of their hands!

 

$700 Snack Attack- In a minute to win it style trial, Mrs. Carrie Gaeir, Mr. John Hoadley, Mrs. Kelley Herman and

Elise Reinert go head to head eating goldfish crackers. Who can eat the most in a minute?

 

$800 Diet Coke Facial- If you don't know, Mr. Todd Peterson has a special love for Diet Coke. Some may even call it an

obsession. We'll be giving him a pair of goggles, a 2 liter of diet coke, and some mentos to have a

diet coke spa experience

 

$900 Blue Hair Don't Care- Tiffany Jokerst, Penny McDowell, Ashlynn Rohr (and we're still working on Ron Knopp!! Cross your

fingers!) are going to show their Wolfpack pride with some temporary blue hair coloring!

 

$1000 PIE THE PRINCIPAL!- That's right, Mrs. Robin Ballarin has agreed to be our main event!
