  • What does this mean for West Hills? Students currently on campus will be attending 4 days a week Tuesday - Friday. Admin will work to find solutions to work within the limits of class size under our current agreements with GEA. This may mean we move teachers into larger spaces, remove furniture or have students sit in another classroom as they complete their work under another teachers supervision (not instruction...just supervision). Any individual teacher wanting to keep their students as a cohort may talk with Admin about how we might do so. This is a teacher's choice, not a requirement.

  • Advisory: Will be once in the week on WednesdaysNew bell schedule posters are coming for posting in classrooms and on campus.

Congratulations West Hills...we are once again making GOOD news... only Grossmont Middle College High School and Valhalla are ahead of us in our District! Even in these difficult learning times, we persevere in offering a terrific high school experience!

PACK TRIALS UPDATE....First Challenge MET!!

And now, our feel good video of the week...our very own  Chocolatey Chance- Our brave math teachers will take a bite of a chocolate covered mystery confection. Science Building update:

Currently, all teachers have vacated the science building and are now teaching from their new classrooms (see list below).  You may have noticed that the construction trailer has arrived and is located in the dirt area next to the Rumson gate entrance. Please note that parking in that area will no longer be available starting Monday (5/3). Parking is also limited in the DG lot next to the baseball field since this is where the construction company is storing their equipment and supplies. The expected construction completion date is set for July 21st and that can change based on how the project goes. Furniture, final checks and walkthroughs will occur after construction is finished. We kindly ask that you park in the front staff parking lot or the DG lot where available. Please do not park on grass panels, walkways, or on any fire lanes. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all sacrifice for a short time. The end result will be amazing!

And now...for some GOOD NEWS.....

Our favorites this week

Lift your voice

Singer Tabitha Haly has some serious pipes, and her strong singing voice is precious to her in more ways than one. Haly has spinal muscular atrophy, also known as SMA, which is a degenerative condition that affects muscle movement and respiration. She has never been able to walk, but her father introduced her to music when she was three years old, setting off a lifelong healthy singing practice. Some physical tasks have become difficult for her over the years, but being able to maintain strong lungs and vocal cords has kept her voice ringing loud and clear. Haly released her first album, "I Wrote Life," in 2019. At her live shows, Haly advocates for disability rights, and her first single, “I Am Able,” sends a similar message. “This particular song is a reminder,” she says. “I can help someone. I can be someone. I can be generous to someone. And most importantly, I can be loved like anyone else."
