Dear Wolfpack,

Wolfpack Theatre cordially invites all WHHS staff to see our fall musical comedy, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The musical is about awkward, misfit middle schoolers who compete in a spelling bee and learn that winning isn't everything. It's a fun time! Please take into consideration that this show is rated PG-13 due to teenage adolescence references.

For all Wolfpack Theatre productions, all WHHS staff and their guests are invited free of charge! Please go through the glass doors into the foyer and sign in at Will Call (as opposed to going to the ticket booth). Even though Wolfpack Theatre admits all staff free, like the rest of the world, money makes the theatre world go round, so if you can, we greatly appreciate any donation that you can give. Any amount that you can give helps maintain our after school productions. Please let me know if you have any questions. It means the world to the students when the staff comes to see the shows.

Attached is a short (1:39) commercial for our show.  Feel free to show it to your class if you wish.
C-O-M-E-D-Y. COMEDY. The fall musical comedy, The 25th Annual Putnam County
Spelling Bee opens this weekend. Friday, Nov. 3rd @ 7pm and Saturday, Nov. 4th
@2pm. Tickets prices are $8 w/an ASB sticker and $10 without.

Thank you again for everything you do,

Carrin Edwards and Wolfpack Theatre

2017–18 CAASPP Institute: Reminder to Secure a Spot Now!
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) Institute is a professional development opportunity for teams and individuals from local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools. This year’s focus is on the implementation of all components of the CAASPP System to support teaching and learning.

Seats are still available for both the 2017–18 CAASPP Institute and the Training-of-Trainers Institute. This year’s CAASPP Institute will provide LEA teams with breakout session content tailored to educator roles and responsibilities. The approach affords LEAs with more opportunities to receive information and targeted strategies for using the CAASPP System to improve teaching and learning. Register teams for the two-day training at one of nine locations statewide. Visit the 2017–18 CAASPP Institute Registration Web page for agendas and online registration.

Additionally, the 2017–18 CAASPP Institute includes a two-day training-of-trainers session for county office of education (COE) staff in December. The Training-of-Trainers Institute will be offered the week of December 11 in Riverside and Sacramento. It is designed to provide COE staff with support to offer CAASPP Institute trainings locally. Visit the 2017–18 Training-of-Trainers Registration Web page for agendas and online registration.

Get Involved with the CAASPP Development Process as a Content Reviewer
CAASPP content reviewers contribute their expertise as California educators at various stages in the assessment development process, for example by reviewing new test questions and making recommendations regarding their content accuracy and alignment to content standards. Content reviewers are invited to participate in specific meetings on an as-needed basis, allowing them the flexibility to commit to attend meetings that fit their busy school/work/life schedules.

CAASPP content reviewers are currently being recruited for the following assessment(s) and content area(s):
·         California Alternate Assessments (CAA) for English language arts, mathematics, and science
·         California Science Tests (CASTs)
·         California Spanish Assessment (CSA)

If you are interested in participating as a content reviewer, go to the CAASPP Content Reviewer Application online application. If you have any questions, please contact CalTAC at 800-955-2954 or caltac@ets.org.

Need some laughs? Please join us for a great night of comedy sponsored by our own WHHS Foundation!
All proceeds benefit WHHS!
