Schoology Help for Parents to Help Teachers

Hello teachers,

During 504 and SST meetings, parents often ask about Schoology and how they can check to see if items have been turned in and graded (especially since there can be a disconnect between the grade in Schoology and in Infinite campus).

I made this Schoology Flyer for Parents to help parents with accessing Schoology. Feel free to share with your parents who reach out and request a code.

For those of you who have not downloaded your class spreadsheet with these access codes, you can do so by following these steps:

1. Click on a course.
2. Click on Members on the left side of your screen:

3. Next, click on parent Access Codes on the right side of your screen to download the class roster with each student's parent access code.

PrepSTEP and Career Accelerator

If you are working on career assignments with students, know of students who are trying to get an after school job, or have students preparing for tests (e.g., SAT, ACT, ASVAB, AP exams, etc.), consider recommending PrepSTEP, a GUHSD subscription resource. Here is a help video that I recently shared with students about its Job and Career Accelerator module. You can also direct students to information about test prep resources (including PrepSTEP) at bit.ly/whhstestprep. Plus, of course, you and students are also welcome to reach out to me (ssannwald@guhsd.net) anytime for more information!

NMSI AP Grant Update

Thank you to all AP teachers involved over the last two years in this STEM grant! We just received the student checks for their  grant awards for each score of a "3" or higher on the AP English, Math, Science and Computer Science exams taken in May, 2020. If you know of any Class of 2020 Graduates who might have a check, please see below for our social media posting and please let them know to come get it!

GUHSD letter to Employees regarding Covid-19 Testing

If you would like to be tested for Covid-19, you may use your own physician, or access one of the four sites listed below that have been exclusively established by the County of San Diego for school employees. You do not need an appointment to get tested and there is no cost to you. You may be asked to provide identification that shows you work for a school district (i.e., staff ID badge). The process is quick and easy, and the turnaround time for results is estimated at 24 hours or less. Tests are conducted by a shallow nasal swab and may be self-collected by the individual while observed by a public health nurse, or may be collected by public health staff if the individual chooses. Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you and take care.
